Fun games and competitions for both parents and children will be available right through the day for families to enjoy. As well as standard games stands, there will also be games which have a common theme of celebrating the Monarch, Royal Family & British Heritage
Food & Drinks Stall
Our food and beverage offer at WMPJF 2022 will comprise an array of delicious and tasty options for families to enjoy at our festival. Stalls shall represent the breadth of diversity that exists across our monarch’s amazing commonwealth of nations and will be a culturally enriching culinary experience for our attendees.
Fun Fair
Running from early afternoon until close, our fun fair will include exciting rides for young children and adults to enjoy during the festival.

Delivered in partnership with the lord mayors parlour, Birmingham city council and city centre bids, the stage in victoria square will provide four days of varies entertainment, reflecting the amazing diversity of the city of birmingham including live bands, choirs, tribute artists and along some amazing local musicians and performers

Platinum Jubilee Beacons
Beacon Lighting

The United Kingdom’s long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees Wedding & Coronations with the lighting of beacons will be continued to mark the Platinum Jubilee. Over 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Overseas Territories.
On behalf of the Lord Mayor Parlour and Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham Platinum jubilee Celebration will light it’s beacon at 9:45pm in Victoria Square, accompanied by the Birmingham City Council Choir.
The service will include music from the Coronation, such as Parry’s ‘I was glad’ and the Vaughan-Williams arrangement of the paraphrase. ‘All people that are on earth do dwell’. The Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff and the Lord major have been invited and the guest preacher invited for the day is the domestic Chaplain to HM The Queen at Windsor, Canon Martin Ploe.
Standards from the Royal British Legion will be on parade and musicians. from St Mary’s School will be adding to the sense of celebration on the day.

The BBC will stage and broadcast a special live concert from Buckingham Palace that will bring together some of the world’s biggest entertainment stars to celebrate the most significant and joyous moments from The Queen’s seven decade reign. Members of the public will be invited to apply to attend this special event and details of the ballot for UK residents to secure audience tickets will be released in February

The big Jubilee lunch
Every year since the idea began in 2009 The Big Lunch has encouraged communities to celebrate their connections and get to know each other a little bit better, coming together in a spirit of fun and friendship.
In 2022 The Big Lunch will bring the Jubilee celebrations into the heart of every community. People are invited to share friendship, food and fun with neighbours as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. A Big Jubilee Lunch can be big or small – street party or picnic, tea and cake or a garden barbecue.
The Big Lunch provides tips and ideas for hosting an event. Over 1400 people have registered to host Big Jubilee Lunches so far, with events beings planned across the length and breadth of the country.

Phil Oldershaw is an esteemed Online, TV, Radio & Live Event Presenter, known for hosting many of the city’s grand occasions. A consummate awards, charity and fundraising dinner host. Having also worked on behalf of HRH, and soon to be hosting Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Phil is pleased to be a part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.


Richie Anderson
Smethwick born Richie Anderson is a television and radio personality. You can hear him every morning on The Zoe Ball breakfast show on Radio 2, as well as a regular roving reporter on BBC One’s The One Show. Richie has been a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Celebrity Weakest Link. He’s a patron of West Bromwich Albion’s LGBTQ+ supporters group Proud Baggies and an ambassador for The West Midlands Air Ambulance.
JAMES BOVIL
Solihull-born James Bovill is an award-winning BBC journalist and broadcaster. He can currently be found on BBC Midlands Today, having previously been a familiar voice on BBC Radio WM, and a political reporter for BBC radio and television in the Midlands. He won a New York Festivals World’s Best Radio Programs award for his documentary about the Birmingham Pub Bombings. James is a proud member of and advocate for the LGBT+ community, and a supporter of the Brain Tumour Charity.


CHAR BAILEY
By profession, Char is a qualified NLP and Personal Performance Coach. Mental health and Autism advocacy play a huge role in what she does, facilitating workshops focussing on self-awareness, stress management, confidence and resilience. She loves showing people how powerful they are. Char is also Education and Inclusion officer for the biggest global movement for queer people of colour UK Black Pride and Head of well-being and Education for Birmingham Pride. Her apple award winning podcast is called Qmmunity.
